The conference explores five themes linked to affective, moral and civic education: it discusses (1) the role played by emotions and affects in civic and moral education; (2) the legitimate and just objectives of education; (3) the issues related to secularism at school; (4) the nature and aim of civic education; and (5) the topic of equal access to education.
